What I Work With, What I Don’t & Why I Do This Work

People often see clips of my altar, candles, herbs, smoke, crystals, petitions, and the ritual work I share online but I know it can still leave questions about what my practice actually is... especially when they see that I offer both white magic and black magic rituals.

I am a traditional witch and spiritual practitioner with more than 30 years of personal experience behind my practice and growth into my practice I use today. I don't worship or work under one specific god or goddess; I do not work with demons and there is no Satanism or demonology involved in the work I offer through The Hour of Witchery. My spiritual connection is rooted in the natural world, the Universe, the sun, moon, stars, earth, the elements of fire, air, water, and earth and the intuitive side of ritual work that comes through when I sit down at my altar with a person’s name, notes, photo where provided, and intentions. I will always do my best to customize around what was shared with me privately and vulnerably.

What Happens at My Altar

This is something many people wonder and have asked. So, with my work, every ritual begins with the customer’s own situation and what they are hoping to shift, strengthen, release, call in, protect, or understand. I prepare the altar and customize the work around the intention rather than treating every order like the same ritual with a different name written on it. Absolutely no "cookie-cutter" type spells from a book. These are all customized specifically around each order. Even if you have come to me for the same situation, all rituals are different from one another; no ritual is the same or performed the same.

I use correspondences that fit the work being done, which can include herbs, candles, oils, crystals, written petitions, flame reading, smoke reading, chant work, cleansing, protection work, and focused intention. Some rituals feel open from the beginning, some carry resistance, some need extra time or adjustment, and some involve several people, complicated emotions, outside circumstances, or a situation that has been building for a long time. That is part of why I take the time to write a thorough personal feedback afterward rather than simply sending the same response to everyone. So yes, the ritual is cast by me on your behalf, and you also receive written feedback, and I will also provide you with a one-page document about "After the Ritual" for you. There is also tons of useful knowledge under the "Read This", the "Customer's Guidance" area has lots of articles, and the FAQ, which is located at the bottom of the website. If you ordered media with your ritual, you will receive photos or a video as well. You can also view hundreds of glimpses into my altar, rituals, and practices (or lifestyle) through my socials.

White Magic and Black Magic in My Practice

White magic is the side of my work that is usually centred around healing, self-growth, love, confidence, work, money, opportunity, clarity, protection, communication, peace, emotional release, and opening paths in life. It is often used when someone wants support around their own energy or someone else, their goals, their home, their career, or a relationship that they hope can move into a healthier place. This is generally a more lighter approach to spell work.

Black magic is not demon work and it does not mean I am calling on Satan or working with anything dark in that sense. Within my own practice, black magic is work that deals more directly with conflict, harmful interference, betrayal, manipulation, injustice, unwanted outside influence, protection from someone causing harm, reversals, banishing, separation, or situations where a person feels they need stronger spiritual boundaries around something that has become personal or difficult. Black magic spells with me are just simply more elevated casting, more correspondences, more chant work, more time spent in the ritual, as these are more lengthy to cast than White Magic spells, whereas many see it as more powerful. The labels can mean different things to different practitioners, traditions, and cultures, so I only speak for my own work and the way I have practiced over the years. I do not use fear to pressure people into ordering more work, and I do not tell customers they are cursed, doomed, or spiritually broken in order to sell them something. I take too much pride in my beliefs/business/craft and respect my practice to ever do that to anyone. My goal with everything I have ever done in "work-related" fields is to help others; this is just another path of that. But this time, I am sharing something so personal and vulnerable of mine, while helping others with their journeys, intentions, spiritual paths, and so on.

Why People Come to Me for Ritual Work

Not everyone has the knowledge, supplies, privacy, time, space, or confidence to do spiritual work on their own, and some people simply feel more comfortable having a practitioner carry out the ritual on their behalf. That is where I come in. I take the intention seriously, I prepare the work personally, and I cast each ritual at my altar with the person and their situation in mind. Again, everything is cast and written to you specifically.

Ritual work can support an intention, bring focus to a goal, help someone feel more connected to their path, and sometimes help them notice where real movement or change needs to happen in their life or someone else's. It does not remove a person’s free will, replace communication, make every outside obstacle disappear, or guarantee that life will follow one exact outcome or timeline. You have to realize that when life doesn't play out how we want, there is generally a reason. I help people see those perspectives as well, in a spiritual, energetic, and positive way.

When more than one person is involved, whether it is a relationship, family situation, workplace issue, court matter, friendship, or business partnership, there are naturally more emotions, choices, perspectives and outside factors involved. That does not mean the work cannot be meaningful; it simply means real life is rarely one straight line and every person involved still has their own choices to make.

The Practical Side Still Matters

I always encourage customers to stay connected to their intuition but you also have to stay connected to the real world side of the situation too. Apply for the job, answer the message, have the conversation, keep the documentation, follow up on the opportunity, care for your home, listen to professional guidance when it is needed, and pay attention to what is actually happening around you. The list goes on, simply because I work with so many different requests and intentions. <3

Ritual work is not meant to take away your power or make you wait around for life to happen to you. It is there to support the intention you came to me with, while you continue making choices that are closer to the life you want for yourself or for someone else.

Alongside ritual work, I also offer readings, spiritual guidance, mentoring, downloadable learning content, handmade items, and Voice of the Witch, which are audios created around affirmation, intention, reflection, and personal support. My work has always been about giving people a space to feel seen, supported and more connected to their own path, while still keeping both feet on the ground, building trust and diminishing the misconceptions and assumptions about the craft and these practices themselves.

Blessings,

Avanjia
